This course will provide training in the fitness-for-service evaluation methods of the API 579-1/ASME FFS-1
Standard. Attendees will learn the basic principles and methodology for Level 1 and 2 assessment of damaged
equipment. This two day course will cover all of the sections of API 579, from Part 3 (Brittle Fracture) to Part 13 (Laminations) and also review introductory material in Parts 1 and 2. Numerous hands-on examples, case
studies, quizzes and class-work assignments will provide a departure from a straight lecture format and maximize
participant involvement.
