Prey Project

Prey is a lightweight laptop and phone tracker that helps you locate, secure, lock and recover your stuff if it goes missing. Works in Mac, Windows, Linux and ...

Prey was recommended by the Houston Policeman that heads my subdivision Patrol. He said that it is free for laptop, but I see on their website, that tracking on 3 devices, costs $5 a month, and increases incrementally to the number of devices in a small company.

When the thief turns on the stolen laptop, It photographs the thief and gives their GPS. Houston Police have apprehended laptop thieves and recovered the laptops. The thieves are in jail, as the theft of a laptop is a felony.

The police are pleased to have this program to work through as thefts of laptops left in cars has increased greatly in Houston.

I wonder if a label on a laptop registered with the Prey Project might prevent a theft, as word will spread in the theft community – don’t know.

Check this out thoroughly yourself

Total Recall (2010)

BEST Inc. has decided to produce and market unique products for two emerging industries. To compete in the world market, our production facilities must incorporate the most advanced robotic control systems available today.

BEST Inc. has decided to build four initial factories and contract with suppliers to develop the robotic control systems. Suppliers are asked to propose and demonstrate strategic processes that will result in a production facility yielding the highest quality products given the constraints of the factory.

BEST Inc. is looking for suppliers with good track records in quality improvement methodologies such as Total Quality Management, Kaizen, Zero Defects, Six Sigma, and Poka Yoke with an ability to incorporate these approaches into their overall production strategy.
