The Turbomachinery and Rotating Equipment chapter meets on the fourth Tuesday evenings, with a dinner meeting at the Monument Inn near San Jacinto Monument. The Sub-Section presents seminars on topics of turbomachinery and rotating equipment periodically.

Coastal Bend Sub-Section
Located in Victoria, Texas, has dinner meetings with topics that reflect the various industries located in the surrounding cities. The Sub-Section presents a Mechanical Trade Show each fall, the proceeds from which fund scholarships to high school students entering college to major in engineering.

Composite Repair Users Group (CRUG)
Composite Repair involves the use of composite materials in various engineering products. Located in the Stress Engineering Services Hosuston Campus, Bldg #2, South of FM 1960 on HWY 290, 13610 Westland East Blvd. - 77041 (281) 955-2900. Meeting includes dinner for those who RSVP, and is being held jointly with the ASME PCC-2 meeting (Wednesday - Friday), so several additional guests from out of town are expected.

The first group established as a part of South Texas Section over 50 years ago,presents topics by industry experts related to the petroleum industry, has lunch meetings at Stress Engineering Services, Inc. The Petroleum Chapter co-sponsors seminars periodically on current issues in the industry.

Plant Engineering & Maintenance Technical Chapter
Meets the second Thursday afternoons at 3:00 p.m. at various industries in the Ship Channel area, with topics relating to plant engineering and maintenance by experts in the field.
The technical chapter sponsors the Plant Engineering & Maintenance Trade Show, held each April, with technical sessions and vendors in the trade, the proceeds from which are a primary contributor to the South Texas Educational Fund which distributes the South Texas Section Scholarships annually.
The technical chapter also sponsors seminars on the most current issues in the industry.
